The American Riichi Mahjong League seeks to provide players in the US with a structured league similar to professional organizations in Japan such as the Japanese Professional Mahjong League (JPML), Saikouisen, and RMU to name a few. This allows players from across the country to compete against each other in a structured longer-term setting, hopefully raising the bar for everyone in the USA to compete with the rest of the world.
